Steinway & Sons Model R Upright Piano – Mahogany (1886)

Steinway & Sons Model R Upright Piano – Mahogany

This Steinway & Sons Model R upright piano was manufactured in 1886 and features an impressive mahogany cabinet with detailed period casework.

The piano has been reconditioned during its lifetime, helping preserve its musical use while retaining much of the character of this late-19th-century instrument.

At 137cm high, this is a substantial upright piano with the proportions and presence typical of larger instruments from the period. The decorative fretwork, mouldings and mahogany finish make it particularly distinctive visually.

This would suit someone looking for a historic Steinway upright with considerable character, whether for regular playing or as an instrument with a strong period appearance.
