C. Bechstein Walter Cave Upright Piano – Oak
This rare C. Bechstein upright piano was made in Germany in 1898 and was designed by English architect Walter Cave in the Arts & Crafts style.
Finished in oak, the cabinet features distinctive period detailing including decorative brass hinges, candle holders and a brass C. Bechstein Berlin nameplate. It is a particularly characterful instrument with a strong connection to late-19th-century Arts & Crafts design.
The piano has 85 notes and is presented in lovely condition. It plays well, with a warm, rich tone and responsive touch.
At 120cm high, it remains a practical upright piano while offering considerably more historical and decorative interest than a conventional cabinet.
